Higher Hartor
Devon
Higher Hartor sits on Hartor Hill at 418 metres, offering substantial views along the Plym valley and across to Gutter Tor, Legis Tor and eventually Plymouth Sound. The lower slopes hold Drizzlecombe, a Bronze Age settlement with hut circles, menhirs, stone rows and cairns. The tor is straightforward to reach via the Nun's Cross path or from the scout hut near Gutter Tor, and sits outside any military firing range, making it accessible walking country with real archaeological interest underfoot.
