Four cairns, Horn's Cross

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1019272) describes four cairns forming part of a cairn cemetery or cairnfield on a gentle north-facing slope of Holne Ridge, above the valley of the River Dart. The scheduling falls into four areas. The southern cairn is a mound 16.5 metres by 14 metres and up to 1.4 metres high, with a pit in its north-west side from a partial early investigation. North of it the second is a ring cairn, a rubble bank 4 metres wide and up to 0.9 metres high round a space 11.9 metres across. The other two lie to the north-west. The nearer to the ring cairn is 4 metres across and up to 0.8 metres high, and the northern is 6 metres across and 0.7 metres high with a small pit in the middle from another early investigation. It lies in the parish of Holne, about 1.1 km south of Combestone Tor and 2.3 km south-east of Huccaby.
