Penn Beacon enclosure and clay works leat

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1008644) describes an enclosure on a south-east-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Ford Brook, part of a settlement of at least thirteen stone hut circles and three enclosures. The enclosure is 55 metres east to west by 24 metres north to south inside, with a partly faced rubble wall 2.5 metres wide and up to 0.6 metres high. Large breaks in the north and south walls may come from limited robbing, though much of those lengths may survive as buried features. It lies in the parish of Cornwood, about 1 km north of Rook Tor and 2.9 km north of Cornwood.

It lies on the south-west edge of the settlement and is cut through by a post-medieval leat, which led to the Whitehill Yeo China Clay Works. The leat channel is 2 metres wide and 0.8 metres deep, with a bank of upcast on the downslope side 1.9 metres wide and 0.5 metres high. The hut circles and enclosures to the north and west have separate schedulings.
