Enclosed stone hut circle settlement 600m WSW of White Tor

This is a cluster of stone hut circles dating to the Bronze Age, positioned on open moorland southwest of White Tor. The settlement reflects the prehistoric use of Dartmoor's higher ground, when people built and occupied these roundhouses across the landscape. The stone foundations that remain today show how communities organized their lives on the exposed moor.
Walking here now, you find scattered stone rings and rubble spreads marking where individual huts once stood. The site sits in the moorland context that has changed little in its essentials since those distant centuries. Like many such settlements across Dartmoor, it is protected as a Scheduled Monument, a record of how people adapted to and lived from this upland terrain.
