Corndon Tor

Devon

Corndon Tor is a small granite peak set among the open moorland of central Dartmoor. Like many of Dartmoor's tors, it commands views across the surrounding moor, with its granite outcrops giving the landscape its characteristic rocky character. The tor sits in terrain typical of the higher moorland, where rough grass and heather dominate and the horizon extends far across the plateau.

The walk to Corndon Tor involves crossing open moor with few obstacles, making it accessible for those exploring this quieter part of Dartmoor. Its low profile means it sits modestly in the landscape rather than dominating it, but it offers a good vantage point for understanding the moor's scale and rolling character. The tor is reached from several directions and fits well into longer moorland walks across central Dartmoor.
