This scheduled monument is a stone hut circle located on the eastern slope of Conies Down Tor, south-west of Beardown Man. It forms part of a dispersed Bronze Age settlement characteristic of Dartmoor's upland zones, where scattered domestic structures once housed pastoral communities.
Today the site survives as a low stone foundation, typical of hundreds of similar settlements across the moor. Walking the eastern slopes here, you encounter the layered archaeology of Dartmoor as it was shaped and lived in over millennia. The moorland setting and surrounding landscape remain largely unchanged from the prehistoric period.
