Haytor Rocks

Grid ref: SX 7571 7704

On walking routes: Templer Way

Haytor Rocks is a massive Summit Avenue Tor and one of Dartmoor's most striking landmarks. It consists of two large rock masses on a lofty ridge, with the western outcrop called Low Man, featuring a huge vertical cliff face. Steps have been cut into the rock for easier access to one of the piles, while the other requires climbing. The views from the top are magnificent, offering vistas of the surrounding countryside, the Channel, and the Teign valley.
