Haytor Rocks

Haytor Rocks sits on the eastern edge of Dartmoor as a substantial summit tor formed from two large granite masses. The western outcrop, known as Low Man, has a sheer cliff face, whilst steps cut into the rock allow access to the top of the main pile. The tor has long been one of the most visited on the Moor, partly because it presents such a distinctive appearance from considerable distances, and partly because the ascent is relatively straightforward. The views from the summit take in South Devon countryside down to the Channel on one side, and the Teign valley and wider moorland on the other.
