Haytor Rocks
Devon
Haytor Rocks stands on the eastern side of Dartmoor as one of the moor's most recognizable granite tors. The exposed granite outcrops rise sharply from the surrounding moorland, their weathered stone catching the light across the landscape. At 457 metres above sea level, it commands views across the moor and the country beyond.
The tor is accessible from several directions, making it a natural destination for walkers exploring this part of Dartmoor. The walk rewards you with the characteristic Dartmoor experience of open moorland, granite underfoot, and the sense of standing on high ground where the weather and light move visibly across the valley floors below.
