Cairnfield and reave, Cosdon Hill

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1020243) describes a cairnfield, a cairn and a length of the Taw Marsh Reave on a gentle north-west-facing slope of Cosdon Hill, above the valley of the River Taw. The scheduling falls into three areas. The cairnfield has at least eight mounds, 3.6 to 5.5 metres across and 0.4 to 0.8 metres high. The Taw Marsh Reave, taken to be the western edge of a prehistoric territory, survives here as a rubble bank 500 metres long, 1.5 metres wide and up to 0.7 metres high. The cairn east of the reave is 9.5 metres across and up to 1 metre high, with a shallow hollow from partial robbing or early excavation. It lies in the parish of South Tawton, about 0.7 km north-east of Ladybrook Tor and 1.3 km south-east of Belstone.
