Today the site appears as low stone foundations, scattered cairn material, and fragmentary structures set into open moorland near Powder Mills. The settlement speaks to the long human presence on Dartmoor, from those who herded livestock and buried their dead in the Bronze Age to later generations making their own use of the same ground. It rewards slow walking and close attention to the texture of the landscape.
