Shipley Tor

Devon

Shipley Tor is a small granite outcrop rising from the open moorland of central Dartmoor. Like many of Dartmoor's tors, it commands views across the surrounding landscape, making it a natural landmark and waypoint for walkers crossing the high moor.

The walk to Shipley Tor takes you through typical moorland terrain of grass, heather and scattered rocks. The tor itself is undemanding to reach and climb, and the granite summit provides a good vantage point across the moor in most directions. It sits well within the network of walking routes that cross Dartmoor's central plateau.
