This round cairn sits on the open moorland south-west of Great Links Tor, part of the dense scatter of Bronze Age funerary monuments that characterises Dartmoor's central plateau. Built as a burial marker, likely in the second millennium BC, it would once have been a more prominent mound, raised over cremated remains and grave goods. Today it survives as an earthen mound, weathered by centuries of exposure to wind and weather.
The site lies in country shaped by prehistoric people and open to walkers crossing the moor. Its position on high ground, alongside other cairns and ritual monuments, reflects the importance of this landscape to Bronze Age communities. Finding it requires map-reading and an ear for the moor's quiet history.
