North Bovey Parish Council

North Bovey is a small, picturesque Dartmoor village in the Teignbridge district, close to Moretonhampstead, built around a village green with an ancient stone cross at its south-western end. The cross, a scheduled monument and Grade II listed structure, was thrown down during the Civil War and later recovered and re-set on the green in 1829. The village is known for its cluster of thatched cottages and its parish church, St John the Baptist. North Bovey Parish Council is the elected local authority, made up of seven councillors serving around 240 parishioners, and meets on the second Tuesday of alternate months, with a separate Annual Parish Meeting held in May at which councillors report to residents. The council describes itself as "a sounding board for local opinion," working with Teignbridge District Council, Devon County Council and the Dartmoor National Park Authority, and welcomes members of the public at all its meetings.
