Leighon Tor
Devon
Leighon Tor is a small but distinctive granite peak that sits on the high moor south of Postbridge. At 377 metres, it offers a natural vantage point across the surrounding moorland and tors, with clear lines of sight to higher ground to the north and west. The tor itself is worth visiting for the sense of space and perspective it provides.
The approach is across open moorland, trackless in places, making it a genuine moor walk rather than a waymarked climb. In settled weather it is straightforward; in mist and cloud it becomes more of a navigation exercise. The tor's modest height and isolated position make it feel more exposed than many higher Dartmoor peaks.
