This scheduled monument is the remains of a prehistoric dwelling, likely dating to the Bronze Age. Hut circles like this one are among the most evocative traces of ancient settlement on Dartmoor, marking where families lived and worked on the open moorland thousands of years ago. The circular stone foundation would once have supported a timber-framed roundhouse with a thatched or turf roof.
Located near Tunhill Rocks on the high moor, the hut circle sits within a landscape shaped by countless generations.
