This scheduled monument preserves the remains of a prehistoric settlement in the upper Erme valley, likely dating to the Bronze Age. The site consists of hut circles, the circular stone foundations of roundhouses, and associated field enclosures that speak to a landscape shaped by early farming communities. The settlement sits at a significant junction in the river valley, a location that would have offered good access to water and grazing.
Today the site requires patience to read. Stone circles and banks are often low and grassed over, revealing themselves more fully in winter light or after rain when shadows define their form.
