Cairn near Ringmoor Cottage

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1012254) describes a cairn on the brow of Ringmoor Down, about 90 metres north-west of the Eylesbarrow Reave. It is 21 metres across and 0.7 metres high, with a hollow centre and an uneven surface that suggest it has been partly disturbed.

Another cairn lies less than a hundred metres away, and a stone row, further cairns and an enclosure are within a few hundred metres.

The record sets it in the general picture of Dartmoor's prehistoric burial mounds, mostly Bronze Age (about 2500 to 500 BC): piles of earth or stone heaped over a burial, sometimes with a stone-lined cist or a kerb round the edge. Crossing gives an early form of the down's name as Rydemoor.
