Blakey Tor

Devon

Blakey Tor is a small granite tor set on the open moorland of central Dartmoor. Like many of Dartmoor's rock formations, it rises from the surrounding heath and grass, offering a natural vantage point across the plateau. The tor's granite character is typical of the moor, weathered by centuries of exposure to the elements.

The approach across moorland is straightforward walking country. From this height you gain views across the surrounding moorland terrain, taking in the textures and contours of the high moor. It is the kind of tor that rewards a visit as part of a longer walk, rather than a dramatic destination in itself, and sits comfortably within Dartmoor's quiet landscape.
