Double hut circle, Watern Oke

Watern Oke is an unenclosed settlement of stone hut circles dating to the Bronze Age, scattered across the moorland. This particular entry records a double hut circle, two roundhouse foundations standing close together. Such settlements offer a glimpse into how people lived on Dartmoor thousands of years ago, using the high ground for pasture and shelter.

Today the site remains on open moorland, marked by the characteristic stone rings and rubble that outline ancient house platforms.
