Buckland in the Moor
The East Webburn is a 5-mile (8 km) stream in the Dartmoor moors in Devon in south-west England. It rises on the western side of the moors, flowing off the west side of Hameldown ridge. Its source is around 1/2 mile (0.80 km) southwest of
Dartmoor Forest
A reservoir on the South Teign River, ringed by conifer forest near Chagford. Built between 1936 and 1942, its granite-faced dam floods a valley rich in Bronze Age remains that reappear in times of drought.
Rattery
A remote reservoir high on the southern moor, on the River Avon above Shipley Bridge. Built between 1954 and 1957, it is reached only on foot, by a good track up the Avon valley from near South Brent.
Belstone
A ford across the East Okement River on the north-east moor, passable by stone-hopping in low water but requiring a wade or diversion in spate.
Okehampton
Wooded river valley on the East Okement south-east of Okehampton, dominated by the stone Fatherford Viaduct carrying the Dartmoor Line.
Mary Tavy
A brook with historical ties, near a tinners' cache and old workings.
Holne
