Steeperton Brook
Dartmoor Forest, Devon
The Steeperton Brook rises on the high northern moor below Steeperton Tor, in the empty country at the head of several of Dartmoor's rivers. It flows north down a broad, boggy valley and joins the young River Taw around Taw Marsh, a wide flat where the river spreads out below the tors.
The whole of its course lies within the Okehampton military training area, watched over by the old observation post on the summit of Steeperton Tor, so walking here follows the range firing notices.
