Three Headland Warren boundary stones, 350m, 330m and 400m south east of Headland Warren Farm

These three standing stones are scheduled monuments that mark the boundary of Three Headland Warren, a medieval enclosed area managed for rabbit farming on Dartmoor. The stones are positioned at intervals across rough moorland south east of Headland Warren Farm, part of the wider system of warrens that once dotted the moor to supply meat and fur to local landowners.
Today the stones remain scattered across the open landscape much as they were set centuries ago. Walking out to find them offers insight into how medieval landowners divided and managed the moor, and how the terrain itself still tells the story of those old boundaries and uses.
