Grippers Hill is a fairly flat grassy area on the southern moor, with cairns marked on the map as the summit. The walk from Shipley Bridge is straightforward, passing Avon Dam on the way. Views from here include distant hills like Brent Hill and Ugborough Beacon, offering a good vantage point over the surrounding moorland.
