  • Rock: Metamorphic (not granite)
  • Access: Private land, no public access

This Fox Tor is a crag of metamorphic rock, not granite, on the wooded valley side above the River Tavy in Mary Tavy parish. It stands at only 207 m. Tors of Dartmoor calls it the best of a small group it names the Tavy Four, with tall vertical walls that are bare of vegetation in places and a good number of nooks and crannies.

William Crossing wrote of some fine crags on the Tavy between the power station and Horndon Bridge, and the same group includes High Tor and Brimhill Tor. Since his day the trees have grown tall enough to hide them, and the only way to see the crags now is to go into the woods. The land is private and there is no public access, so permission has to be sought.

Do not confuse it with Fox Tor on the high southern moor, a granite tor of 438 m beside Fox Tor Mires and Childe's Tomb. That one is about 14 km to the south-east and is open to walkers; this one is a low riverside crag.
