This scheduled monument consists of the remains of a prehistoric settlement set on Dartmoor's open moorland, roughly 300 metres west-northwest of White Tor's summit. The site comprises a cluster of stone hut circles, the foundations of roundhouses built and occupied during the Bronze Age, when farming communities lived and worked across the high moor. A kerbed boulder, deliberately edged with stones, is part of the settlement's archaeological record.
Visitors will find a scatter of low stone foundations and walls among the heather and granite, typical of the many similar settlements that dot Dartmoor's ridges and plateaus. The landscape here is open and exposed, offering views across the moor. The site requires careful walking and an eye for archaeology, but rewards those interested in how people once lived on this high, demanding terrain.
