Wedlake Tor

Devon

Wedlake Tor is a small but distinct granite peak set in the rolling moorland between Postbridge and the eastern reaches of Dartmoor. At 370 metres it offers a gentle climb through typical high moor terrain, and rewards walkers with clear views across the plateau and towards the surrounding ridges.

The tor itself is a working part of the Dartmoor landscape rather than a dramatic landmark. Its granite bones are exposed in the characteristic weathered outcrops of the central moor. The walk here gives a true sense of Dartmoor's open, working character, with wide horizons and the particular light and silence of the high ground.
