Skaigh Warren and Ivy Tor settlements

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1018925) describes a rabbit warren, an area of ridge and furrow, two hut circle settlements, two cairnfields and other cairns on a north-facing lower slope of Cosdon Hill, above Belstone Cleave. The scheduling falls into 15 areas. It lies in the parish of South Tawton, about 1.2 km north of Ladybrook Tor and 1.5 km south-west of Sticklepath.

The warren has at least 21 pillow mounds scattered over the hill, and a small rectangular building in its eastern part may be a warreners' shelter. It is known as Skaigh Warren, though the Ordnance Survey marks that name further east where no pillow mounds are known. Narrow ridge and furrow covers much of the eastern part and seems to be older than the mounds.

The eastern settlement, centred on SX 63109351, has at least seven hut circles, 14 to 95 square metres inside, averaging 44, with walls 0.5 to 1.4 metres high. Two are butted by boundary walling, two are joined, and two share an annex or courtyard. Near it a cairnfield of at least 28 mounds, circular ones 3.9 to 7.3 metres across and oval ones 5 to 10 metres long, 0.5 to 1.4 metres high, may be of the same date, though some may come from clearing the ground for the historic ridge and furrow. The western settlement, centred on SX 62609303, has at least six huts, 13 to 94 square metres inside, averaging 36, with enclosures, rubble walling and a cairnfield. Some of its cairns may be burials, and one has a kerb and another a surrounding platform. A small cairn at SX 62479315, 3.8 metres across and ringed by at least two outer banks, may be a ring cairn.
