Round cairn on Watchet Hill

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1017872) describes a round cairn on the summit of Watchet Hill. It is an oval mound 0.8 metres high, 16.6 metres north to south by 13.8 metres east to west. A T-shaped trench from an early partial excavation cuts through the centre. Beside the south-east side is a ditch 2.3 metres wide and 0.2 metres deep, the remains of the quarry ditch that supplied material for the cairn. It would originally have ringed the mound, but now survives mostly buried. It lies in the parish of Belstone, about 1 km north-east of Scarey Tor and 0.8 km south-west of Belstone.
