This scheduled monument consists of a double stone hut circle and associated enclosure, evidence of Bronze Age settlement on the open moor. The two adjoining roundhouses and their surrounding earthwork suggest a family or small community dwelling, typical of the scattered pastoral settlements that occupied Dartmoor's higher ground during prehistory.
Today the site survives as low stone foundations and banks, best read in winter when vegetation dies back. It sits within the wider landscape of prehistoric Dartmoor, where dozens of similar hut circles and field systems mark centuries of Bronze Age life. The location near Deadlake Foot, exposed and windswept, shows how the moor supported year-round habitation in the distant past.
