Ugborough Parish Council

Ugborough is a South Hams parish council serving the village of Ugborough and the surrounding hamlets of Filham, Ludbrook, Bittaford, Moorhaven, Cheston and Wrangaton, home to around 1,845 residents. The parish has an unusually wide span of landscape, running from the open moorland around Redlake on the southern edge of Dartmoor down through the wooded Erme valley to the farmed lowlands of the South Hams. Its centre is the attractive village square, overlooked by the tower of St Peter's Church. The eleven-member elected council meets monthly at Ugborough Village Hall to oversee local matters such as footpaths, open spaces, planning consultation responses and community facilities, working alongside South Hams District Council and, for the moorland part of the parish, the Dartmoor National Park Authority. Ugborough sits close to the A38 and the town of Ivybridge, making it a convenient gateway village for visitors exploring the southern fringe of Dartmoor.
