Two hut circles near North Hessary Tor

This scheduled monument consists of two stone hut circles positioned on the southern margin of a wider Bronze Age settlement on the high moor. The huts are typical of the domestic structures that housed Dartmoor's prehistoric communities, built from stone to withstand the exposed moorland climate. Such settlements cluster across this part of the moor, evidence of sustained habitation during the Bronze Age when the landscape was more actively farmed and managed than it is today.
