Two hut circles near North Hessary Tor

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1011180) describes two stone hut circles, lined up north-east to south-west, on the southern edge of an unenclosed hut circle settlement on the lower south-facing slope of North Hessary Tor, above the valley of the River Meavy. The northern hut is a stone and earth bank around a space 2 metres across, with a wall 1.3 metres wide and 0.3 metres high and a doorway in the west wall. The southern hut survives as an arc of nine stones up to 0.2 metres high, showing through the peat, around a space 6.2 metres across. Other huts of the settlement lie to the north. It lies in the parish of Walkhampton, about 1.1 km north of Hart Tor and 1.4 km south-west of Princetown.
