Two circular cairns, an ovoid cairn and a ring cairn lying within an enclosure

This scheduled monument comprises a cairnfield on Homerton Hill containing four distinct cairn structures: two circular mounds, one ovoid mound, and a ring cairn, all contained within an enclosure. The site dates to the Bronze Age, when communities used such burial grounds to mark their dead across Dartmoor's high moorland.

Today the cairns remain visible as low stone mounds across the open moor, their arrangement reflecting ritual and social organization of prehistoric communities. The enclosure suggests the site held particular significance, perhaps protecting or defining a family burial ground. Walking here, you encounter the enduring traces of Dartmoor's oldest inhabitants.
