Shelstone Tor sits high above the West Okement Valley, facing Black Tor across the water. One outcrop is capped by a logan stone marked with pitted rock basins. The tor is tricky to reach: either cross the weir at Vellake Corner from Meldon Reservoir, or approach via Sourton Tor from the west. Note that the Okehampton firing range starts at Black Tor, half a mile south east.
