Lowery Tor

Devon

Lowery Tor is a small but distinct granite outcrop rising from the open moorland of central Dartmoor. At 371 metres, it sits among the cluster of high tors that define this part of the plateau, offering a straightforward walk and genuine views across the undulating moor in all directions.

The approach is across open ground with few landmarks, giving it a quiet character compared to more famous neighbours. The granite itself is weathered and broken, typical of Dartmoor's higher peaks. On clear days the walk rewards simple effort with the kind of wide, empty perspectives that define the heart of the moor.
