Four stone hut circles and a cairnfield occupy the north-west slope of Roos Tor, about 400 metres south-east of Wedlake Farm. This is a scheduled monument and forms part of a larger prehistoric settlement complex scattered across this part of Dartmoor. The hut circles are the foundations of Bronze Age roundhouses, their stone walls still visible as low rings in the moorland turf.
The cairnfield and settlement pattern tell the story of Bronze Age communities who farmed and lived on Dartmoor's upland slopes, making use of the moor's resources and shelter. Today the site sits in open moorland, quiet and unadorned, where the arrangement of stones across the landscape still speaks of the people who built them thousands of years ago.
