This scheduled monument preserves the remains of a prehistoric settlement dating to the Bronze Age, when upland areas of Dartmoor were actively farmed and lived in. The site consists of a number of hut circles, the stone foundations of roundhouses, alongside an enclosure that once served to contain livestock and define the working landscape of an ancient community.
Today the site sits among open moorland and rough grassland, offering glimpses into how people organised their lives on the high moor several thousand years ago. Penn Beacon rises nearby, a landmark visible across the Dartmoor plateau.
