Enclosure near Brisworthy Plantation

This scheduled monument is an enclosure of prehistoric date, most likely Bronze Age or Iron Age, situated on the high moorland north-east of Brisworthy Plantation. The earthwork consists of a banked and ditched boundary that once defined a domestic or pastoral enclosure, a form common across Dartmoor where communities maintained livestock and seasonal settlements among the open moor.

Today the enclosure survives as a subtle earthwork in the heather and grass.
