Holy Trinity Church stands at the centre of Drewsteignton, its village square (itself possibly dating to the settlement's original medieval layout) built up around it. The church is mostly 15th-century, with later rebuilding, and is Grade I listed.
A local anecdote survives from a visit by the writer Elias Tozer in the 1870s, who recorded an old man's account of the bell-ringers' enthusiasm: "The ringers be vurry fond of the bells, and sometimes they ring vor vurry little. T'other day Varmer Dadd killed a peg, and gied the natlins to the poor of the parish. Darned if the ringers didden ring vor a whole hour... to cillebrate the hayvent."
Not to be confused with two other Dartmoor churches sharing the same dedication: Holy Trinity Church, Buckfastleigh (the Richard Cabell/Hound of the Baskervilles church) and Holy Trinity Church, Gidleigh.
