Bishop's Stone is a wayside cross incorporated into the garden wall of Caseley Bungalow, positioned about 15 metres south-east of the road to Caseley. Like many such stones scattered across Dartmoor and Devon, it likely dates to the medieval period, when simple stone crosses marked routes across the moor and served as waymarkers or places of rest for travellers.

Today the stone remains in its domestic setting, a reminder of the older landscape and paths that once crossed this part of Dartmoor. Such crosses often developed from earlier pagan sites or marked Christian routes, and their survival in walls and boundaries shows how deeply rooted they are in the moor's history. Visitors exploring the lanes around Caseley may spot it as evidence of continuity in the landscape.
