Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1018905) describes a cairnfield on a gentle east-facing slope above the valley of the Blackaton Brook. It is a tight cluster of eight mounds, 0.7 to 1.1 metres high. Five are circular, 4 to 6 metres across, and the rest ovoid, 6.7 to 8 metres long. It lies in the parish of South Tawton, about 1.3 km north-east of Little Hound Tor and 2.5 km west of Throwleigh.
