Berra Tor

Berra Tor stands at just 132 metres above sea level, making it one of Dartmoor's lowest tors. It sits on the south western edge of the moor, quite isolated and hidden from most viewpoints, which partly explains why it remains relatively unknown compared to higher peaks. The tor juts out from surrounding trees more like a rocky outcrop than a prominent hill feature.
Its isolation and wooded setting give Berra Tor a different character from the more famous tors of the central moor. The nearest settlement of any size is Buckland Monachorum, making it a rewarding destination for those who seek quieter corners of Dartmoor. The approach through trees to this granite landmark offers an intimate sense of exploration rather than dramatic views from the summit.
