Tinners' building 680m north east of Fur Tor

This scheduled monument is the ruin of a structure built during Dartmoor's tin mining era, when extraction and processing of ore shaped the moorland economy and landscape. The building's purpose and exact date remain uncertain, but its location and form suggest it served the miners who worked nearby, perhaps as a shelter, storage or workplace connected to the extraction or initial treatment of tin.
