Three hut circles NW of Cadworthy

Three hut circles survive on the moor northwest of Cadworthy, the remains of Bronze Age roundhouses that once stood on these slopes. The circles are visible as low stone rings in the moorland turf, the foundations of dwellings that would have been roofed and inhabited during the later Bronze Age, roughly 1500 to 700 BC. They form part of the extensive pattern of ancient settlement scattered across Dartmoor's uplands.
Today the site sits quietly in the open moorland landscape, with views across the surrounding terrain. The hut circles are modest but clear enough to read on the ground, and their presence speaks to centuries of human habitation and land use on these high plateaus.
