Three enclosed hut groups above the Bala Brook

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1002505) describes three enclosures, with stone hut circles and a pillow mound, on a high ridge overlooking the valleys of the River Avon and the Bala Brook. The scheduling falls in three areas. The enclosures are roughly oval, with upright-stone and rubble banks up to 4 metres wide and 1 metre high. It lies in the parish of South Brent, about 0.6 km west of Shipley Tor.

The eastern enclosure holds 15 hut circles of varying size, five of them attached to the wall and two joined together, one with a dividing wall. A single pillow mound, a low rectangular mound within a partly buried ditch, sits in its eastern part. The northern enclosure holds three hut circles, the largest in the centre and 6 metres across inside. The southern enclosure holds one hut, 7 metres across, attached to its northern wall.

The rest of the settlement lies nearby but is not scheduled, because it has not been formally assessed.
