Hut circle near North Hessary Tor

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1011178) describes a stone hut circle on the north-eastern edge of an unenclosed hut circle settlement on the lower south-facing slope of North Hessary Tor, above the valley of the River Meavy. It is a stone and earth bank around a space 6.3 metres across, with a wall 1.6 metres wide and 0.7 metres high. A slight north to south hollow inside suggests partial early excavation or robbing. Other huts of the settlement survive to the south and west. It lies in the parish of Walkhampton, about 1.1 km north of Hart Tor and 1.3 km south-west of Princetown.
