Cairn and cist above Deadman's Bottom, north of Grim's Grave

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1015751) describes a round cairn holding a cist, overlooking Deadman's Bottom, part of a scattered group of burial monuments. The mound is 5.5 metres across and up to 0.6 metres high and has been excavated to show a cist running south-south-east to north-north-west. The cist still has its large cover slab, 1.44 metres by 0.94 metres, but the slab has shifted and now lies a little askew. The inside of the cist is 0.86 metres long by 0.48 metres wide. Edge-set stones in at least two places mark a kerb that may survive buried elsewhere. It lies in the parish of Shaugh Prior, about 0.7 km south-east of Calveslake Tor.
