Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1020013) describes a ring cairn on a gentle west-facing slope of Barn Hill, looking over large areas of west Devon and east Cornwall. It is a rubble bank 2 metres wide and up to 0.6 metres high, holding a large number of edge-set stones, round a circular space 6.6 metres across. A ditch 3 metres wide and 0.1 metres deep surrounds the bank. It sits within the extensive coaxial field system that covers much of Whitchurch Common and the slopes of Cox Tor. It lies in the parish of Whitchurch, about 1 km north-west of Feather Tor and 1.8 km west of Merrivale.
