Rectangular building near Hen Tor

Grid ref: SX 5908 6562

This rectangular stone building sits alone on the moorland northwest of Hen Tor, forming part of the wider Hentor Farm settlement. Its age is uncertain, but the form and construction suggest medieval or early modern origins, when such structures served as storage, shelter or dwelling on Dartmoor's upland farms.

Today it stands as a ruin among the granite and heather, a reminder of how people have worked and lived on this exposed landscape for centuries. The site is a scheduled monument, protected for its archaeological and historical value.

Historic England listed designation: Rectangular building 420m north west of Hen Tor, forming an outlying part of Hentor Farm
