Rebecca Beattie

Dr Rebecca Beattie grew up on Dartmoor, where an early love of nature and ancient traditions took root. She trained in a Gardnerian Wiccan coven, of which she is now high priestess, and also studied psychic development and mediumship at the College of Psychic Studies. She holds an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature from Birkbeck, University of London, and a PhD in Creative Writing from Middlesex University, completed in 2020, with a focus on the nature mystic and author Mary Webb.

She is the author of several books including The Wheel of the Year (Elliott and Thompson, 2022), Pagan Portals: Practical Planetary Magic (2023), The Way Through the Woods (2024), and the forthcoming The Season of Frost and Fire (October 2026). She is represented by literary agents Johnson and Alcock. Her work draws on the rhythms of the natural world, folklore and ritual practice from many cultures.

Alongside her writing, Rebecca teaches witchcraft subjects, offers masterclasses in wheel of the year and planetary magic, and provides consulting, coaching and private tuition. She also runs a small shop selling books, nature mystic note cards and semi-precious jewellery. By day she works as a professional in a drug and alcohol treatment charity.
