Partially enclosed hut circle settlement near Warren House Inn

Two clusters of partially enclosed stone hut circles stand on the moorland northwest of Warren House Inn. These are the foundations of Bronze Age roundhouses, likely dating to the second millennium BC, when the climate was warmer and the moor supported scattered farming settlements. The stone rings and banks represent the footprints of domestic life in prehistory, sheltering families and their livestock on the high ground.

Today the site is marked by low stone walls and earthworks visible among the heather and grass. The settlement's position on open moorland offers wide views across Dartmoor. These remains are scheduled monuments, protected because they are rare and significant evidence of how Bronze Age communities organized their settlements and adapted to life on the moor.
