Lustleigh Parish Council

Lustleigh is a small village and civil parish in the Wrey Valley, within Dartmoor National Park in the Teignbridge district of Devon, lying roughly between Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead. It is often described as one of Dartmoor's prettiest villages, known for its thatched cob cottages grouped around the village green and its 13th-century Church of St John the Baptist, which stands at the heart of the settlement and features a notable rood screen and medieval tower. The village holds an annual May Day celebration, a long-running local tradition involving the crowning of a May Queen, which draws visitors from across the region. Lustleigh sits close to Lustleigh Cleave, a steep wooded river gorge popular with walkers, and the village is served by a small train halt on the Dartmoor line. Lustleigh Parish Council, made up of a chair, clerk and seven councillors, meets monthly in the village hall to manage local matters such as planning responses, the play area and an orchard.
